Everyday our staff mentors strive to provide programming that is virtual our members and larger community. While our d rways are closed as a result of social distancing efforts, we now have taken this chance to recognize new and exciting ways to connect with our youth and teens.
Weekly, new program packets are published to our Virtual Clubhouse website. These packets outline fun and academic tasks people can perform from your home, usually with little additional product. In order to support their distance education and sch l work, most of the packets consider subjects like art, STEM, healthier practices, and technology. Numerous packets have activities like journaling, yoga, meditation, and m d meters to support membersвЂ™ social-emotional well-being in this difficult time.
Combined with the packets, people can follow along side fun activities from their favorite personnel through our videos that are daily! They could get creative within the kitchen apple that is making, no-bake protein bites, and even SpongebobвЂ™s Krabby Patty! Or get crafty by simply making their play-doh that is own rocket, or origami.
Teens Empowered by Visit to State Capitol
February 25, 2020 – during the Club, weвЂ™re developing the next generation of leaders. By giving possibilities to help youth become responsible, caring residents and acquire the skills required to take part in democratic process, weвЂ™re building skills in leadership, planning, decision-making, and community solution. Often this takes place in the Club, and sometimes there are unique opportunities within the greater community.
Teens from our W dburn Club recently toured the continuing State Capitol and met with Representative Pam Marsh of District 5. Representative Marsh shared some of her knowledge being an elected official, and explained her duties. The teenagers were able to make inquiries, and pay attention to Representative MarshвЂ™s work with issues like environment modification, healthcare, and drug/alcohol avoidance. With Torch Club elections just just about to happen, teens that are into the operating for officer functions had the ability to ask her questions regarding campaigning as well as the election process.
